Kangaroo Trail

For those of you seeking a Kangaroo experience ( all wild, not fenced in), why not follow the Kangaroo Trail during your stay here at Rose Gums.  Ranging from the oldest and smallest, the Musky Rat-kangaroo, to one of the biggest, the Eastern Grey Kangaroo, the Kangaroo Trail provides something for all ages.

Begin with the 8.30am free wildlife viewing at Rose Gums to see the Musky Rat-Kangaroo, the most primitive and smallest of all kangaroos. You will be surprised.

Take the Malanda Falls walk to see the beautiful Red-Legged Pademelon Wallabies and possibly the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo.

Continue on to Granite Gorge Nature Park, home to the very cute Mareeba Rock Wallaby. You can pat and feed these adorable creatures.

Not far on is The Mareeba Golf Course  where over 400 of the large Eastern Grey Kangaroos. You will need to hire a golf buggy at the club house to do this, ($30.00), and you will be able to get up close for some wonderful photographs.
