Kangaroo Trail
For those seeking a wild kangaroo experience, why not follow the Kangaroo Trail during your stay at Rose Gums? From the smallest and oldest Musky Rat-kangaroo to the largest Eastern Grey Kangaroo, the Kangaroo Trail offers something for all ages.
- 8:30am Wildlife Viewing: Begin your day with the free wildlife viewing at Rose Gums to see the Musky Rat-Kangaroo, the most primitive and smallest of all kangaroos.
- Malanda Falls Walk: Take the Malanda Falls walk to see the beautiful Red-Legged Pademelon Wallabies and possibly the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo (pictured).
- Granite Gorge Nature Park: Continue to Granite Gorge Nature Park, home to the very cute Mareeba Rock Wallaby. You can pat and feed these adorable creatures.
- Mareeba Golf Course: Not far from Granite Gorge Nature Park is the Mareeba Golf Course, home to over 400 large Eastern Grey Kangaroos. You can hire a golf buggy at the clubhouse for $30.00, which will allow you to get up close and take some wonderful photographs.
